Nama model comparison
Nama J2 vs J2 XL vs C2 vs J3: choose by bundle, jug and routine
Nama's current U.S. juicer directory shows four distinct packages: the J2, J2 XL, C2 and J3. They share a powered auger idea, but their bundled vessel, secondary function, body size and documentation differences lead to different answers. Compare the actual box and operating plan—not just a model suffix or a maker's per-load yield estimate.
Start with what you want the appliance to do
All four are described as cold-press/auger juicers. If masticating extraction is your requirement, the J2, J2 XL and J3 offer juicing-only plans; the C2 adds a separate high-speed blender configuration on the same base. The C2 is sequential: stop, remove the juicing assembly and install the blender jug. It is not a simultaneous juice-and-blend setup. It also has a named Auto Clean cycle for the blender jar; the juicing assembly still needs its own manual-guided disassembly and washing.
Need a supplied sorbet setup? The exact J2 XL and C2 packages list the Sorbet Attachment. Their manuals describe it as a separate attachment, requiring a stopped juicer and frozen-fruit preparation. Standard J2 and J3 package lists don't include that part. A separate blender preference is not the same thing as sorbet: the J2 XL has the sorbet piece but no blender jug, while the C2 has both a blender setup and sorbet attachment.
Batch size: ask about the vessel, not the yield
Nama's J2 page lists an ingredient-dependent 20–30-ounce juice yield. The XL product page gives a similar juice-yield range, but additionally says its Large Pitcher Set is included and identifies a 100-ounce pitcher. That is the one explicit large receiver figure in this family. The C2 and J3 include a juice container without a published nominal capacity; the J2 standard package likewise lists a container but does not provide a capacity. The J3 page includes conflicting yield statements (10–15 versus 8–12 ounces), which do not resolve its receiver size. A finder that sees only a claim about output should not pass a minimum-carafe requirement.
“Large Hopper” is a useful kit distinction on J2 XL but the exact page does not give that hopper a numeric volume. J2 and C2 have a hopper too, yet the page does not publish their hopper volume either. If your requirement is “less prep” or a named large-hopper bundle, XL is the documentable answer. If the requirement is a numeric 1.5-quart feed reservoir, none of these pages proves that figure.
Counter fit and cleanup change the recommendation
The J3's listed body is 8.9 inches wide, 6.5 inches long and 15.4 inches high, at 9.7 pounds with the chamber set. The J2 is 9.8 inches wide, 9.0 inches long and 17.7 inches high, at 12.1 pounds. The C2 juicer setup is listed at 10.1 × 11.6 × 20 inches and 21 pounds; its blender setup is 21 inches high and 19.2 pounds with the jug. The J2 XL page says 17.7 inches and 12.1 pounds, but its linked manual says 17.8 inches and 12.9 pounds. For a hard lifting or cabinet limit, keep XL weight/height unknown until the manufacturer reconciles it. Nama calls one axis “length”; don't silently call that depth or ignore overhead hopper/strainer clearance.
None of the four manuals' juicer setup is a dishwasher-cleaning shortcut: they direct hand-cleaning and prohibit dishwasher/dryer use. The C2's Auto Clean instruction—with warm water and dish soap—is specific to its blender jug and still ends with a rinse. A shopper who requires dishwasher-safe strainers should choose a different documented model rather than inferring washability from “easy” or “clean” marketing language.
Use the questionnaire as a practical filter
- Choose J2 when you want the standard powered auger package and manual reverse, without paying for a separately listed XL pitcher kit, sorbet part or blender. Its yield text is not a receiver-capacity figure.
- Choose J2 XL when the included Large Hopper, 100-ounce large pitcher and sorbet attachment are essential. Don't use its conflicting page/manual weight or height as confirmed fit values.
- Choose C2 when you need both cold-press juicing and high-speed blending on one base, accept switching attachments, and want an Auto Clean setting for the blender jug. Its juice and blender vessel capacities are not published.
- Choose J3 when the shorter listed setup and included smoothie strainer suit a smaller routine. It is still a juicer—not a blender—and no measured pitcher size is listed.
For all four, the manual caps the juicing setup at 30 minutes or less and calls for approximately five minutes of cooling after a full session; their listed hand-cleaning requirements remain a real ownership task. The C2's blender has different limits: five minutes in manual mode or up to seven minutes thirty seconds for automatic programs, with the maker's rest rules. Never transfer a limit from one configuration to the other. These sources describe operating plans, not independent yield, noise, nutrition or reliability tests.
