Kuvings model comparison

Kuvings NJE vs NJ9500 vs SC: choose by routine and package

Among the current U.S. household Kuvings models that are not the AUTO or Whole Slow families, the useful decision is not a simple performance ladder. NJE, NJ9500, and SC use different feed and extraction routines: a horizontal masticating juicer with multiple food-processing nozzles, a centrifugal extractor with two speed settings, and a compact-opening slow masticating juicer. Start with the way you want to feed ingredients and the jobs you will actually use; then check the exact box and the manual for the model code on the offer.

Compare the main tradeoffs

ModelManufacturer-described setupWhat stands out in the exact listingDetails that remain unconfirmed
NJEHorizontal masticating juicer, listed at 80 rpmSeven multipurpose nozzles; maker lists pasta extrusion, grinding, mincing, and nut/soy milk; removable small-item hopper. A 2012 Kuvings-authored manual lists both current NJE codes, maps juicing/mincing/pasta/rice-cake and frozen-fruit dessert setups, and caps continuous running at 30 minutes.Opening width, juice/pulp cup volume, axis-labelled dimensions, routine rest interval, and exact package mapping for marketing functions not itemized in the manual
NJ9500High-speed centrifugal extractor, 9,500 rpm Low / 11,000 rpm TurboTwo ingredient-oriented speed choices; stainless-steel juicing bowl and blade; 3D mesh screen. A 2012 U.S. manual for NJ9500U documents setup, feed timing, a less-than-30-minute maximum, and a hand-wash-only screen.Manual applicability to Black NJ9500B, numeric chute width, supplied juice pitcher, pulp-bin capacity, axis-labelled dimensions, and a specific minimum run interval or routine rest period
SCSlow masticating juicer, listed at 80 rpm2.25 × 1.25-inch feed opening; removable small-item hopper and flow-control smart cap; smoothie strainer sold separatelyWhich opening axis is width, juice/pulp cup volume, axis-labelled dimensions, session limit and rest interval

Choose the feeding routine first

Pick the NJE for multiple jobs on one base. Its main distinction is the maker-listed seven-nozzle package. The official page identifies pasta extrusion, coffee and spice grinding, mincing herbs and garlic, and nut or soy milk alongside juice. The U.S. manual adds a task-to-tool matrix for juicing, mincing, pasta, rice cake, and frozen-fruit desserts/sorbet, while describing a separate blank-screen route for slush, ice crushing, and grinding. These are separate attachment setups: one does not happen at the same time as juice extraction. If you will use only juice, the extra tools may add parts to store and clean without changing your routine. The manual lists a 30-minute maximum run and hand-washing for the juicing strainer, but gives no routine rest schedule. It still does not publish an opening width.

Choose the NJ9500 if the centrifugal style and two speeds matter. Kuvings pairs Low with soft ingredients and Turbo with harder produce. The exact listing calls its tube large but gives no dimension and does not list a standalone juice pitcher. The 2012 NJ-9500U manual explains safe alignment and slow, staged feeding, and says its maximum continuous use is less than 30 minutes; a two-hour cooldown applies only if the motor stops or fails to restart after extended juicing. Its screen is hand-wash only, even though most other parts are described as top-rack safe at low temperature. The guide names NJ9500U, not the current Black NJ9500B variant, so confirm exact booklet coverage for that offer. The maker’s broad many-cups statement remains no measured batch volume.

Consider the SC for a small-feed-opening slow juicer. Its published 2.25 × 1.25-inch opening and detachable small-item hopper support a prepared-ingredient routine. The hopper is not described as a hands-free batch container. Its juice cup is included but has no stated volume, and the smoothie strainer is a separate purchase. The two opening dimensions are not axis-labelled, so they are not entered as a precise width/depth fit test.

Confirm exact color and model code

The NJE page identifies Silver as NJE3580U and Chrome as NJE3570U. The SC page maps Silver to 850SC and Red to 940SC. NJ9500 appears as Silver NJ9500U and Black NJ9500B. The current U.S. pages present these as color options on the same product listings, but a product-page variant is not a universal parts-compatibility certificate. Kuvings’ spare-part listings name other NJE and SC family codes; verify any older used appliance or replacement part by its own exact compatibility page. The NJ9500 description also contains one paragraph that says NJ500, although its heading and model-number field say NJ9500. This comparison follows the exact NJ9500 listing rather than creating a separate model from that text inconsistency.

Don't infer missing capacities or instructions

All three current U.S. product pages list a paper manual in the package. Archived 2012 manufacturer-authored manual scans now resolve some NJE and NJ9500U operating details, but they are hosted by third-party manual libraries rather than linked from the maker’s current product pages. The NJE guide names both current finish codes. The NJ9500 guide is specifically titled NJ-9500U and does not name the Black NJ9500B variant; the SC manual route remains unresolved. Do not transfer any instruction to the SC or the B code without exact confirmation. The NJE and SC list juice and pulp cups without a stated volume. The NJ9500 package does not name a separate juice pitcher. If a minimum batch vessel, a particular continuous session, or exact clearance is essential, the details below the verified manual limits remain unknown. Dimensions shown as a sequence without axis labels are not reliable cabinet-height guarantees.

A practical shortlist

Ask yourself three questions: Will you use food-processing attachments beyond juice? Do two centrifugal speed choices matter more than a screw-and-strainer routine? Is a smaller measured opening acceptable if it has a small-item hopper? Then verify the exact variant, cup or pitcher, and required instructions in the current offer. The 5-year NJE, 3-year NJ9500, and 10-year SC limited warranties are manufacturer-listed terms, not longevity scores. For broader batch hoppers or wider chute designs, compare the separate Kuvings AUTO and Whole Slow reviews; their accessories and operating limits are not automatically shared by these models.
