Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Do you want the machine to adjust for mixed produce using its ingredient-sensing mode?
Tribest describes sensors that respond to food resistance in the SWA-3 AI mode. This is a maker-documented control feature, not an independently tested yield result.
Explore this need in the finder →Must the manual allow at least 15 continuous minutes before its cooling break?
The SWA-3 manual allows up to 15 minutes continuously and calls for at least 15 minutes of cooling between extended sessions.
Explore this need in the finder →Will the listed 17.6-inch body fit below your shelf with extra room to remove the hopper?
The manufacturer lists a 17.6-inch body height; measure additional clearance for opening and removing the hopper assembly.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the listed 27 fl oz juice container fit your minimum, or do you need 32 fl oz?
Tribest lists a 27 fl oz / 800 mL juice container. If that receiver is too small and you require at least 32 fl oz, this exact configuration does not meet the minimum; the separate 32 fl oz figure is its pulp container.
Explore this need in the finder →The Tribest Slowstar AI SWA-3 is a vertical, single-auger juicer built around a 1.5 L produce hopper, a quick-fill lid, eight named presets and a sensor-led AI mode. That is a more automated loading and control routine than a basic feed-chute slow juicer, but it is not a license to drop in any whole fruit and walk away. Its manual still calls for peeling or pitting some produce, cutting fibrous ingredients, a 15-minute maximum continuous session, and hand-washing every removable part.
What the AI mode changes—and what it does not prove
Tribest identifies the exact model as SWA-3GY-B and describes a vertical single-auger mechanism with a stainless-steel chopper, an auger and a screenless filter. The touchscreen offers presets for apples, watermelon, citrus, grapes, celery, carrots, pomegranate and frozen sorbet, plus an AI mode. The linked manual says its sensors respond to food resistance and adjust the speed; the product page describes that as automatically optimizing squeezing time and pressure for mixed produce. This is a useful control distinction if you alternate soft fruit and firmer vegetables. It is not evidence that a recipe is foolproof, that the machine learns your preferences, or that it produces a measured percentage more juice.
Tribest advertises up to 15% more juice and less pulp than other leading juicers; that is a maker comparison, not a result measured for this review. “Screenless” also does not mean no filter: it remains a removable part that needs rinsing. The listed 32–60 RPM range is not a user-set variable-speed dial. If you want manual speed selection, this preset/AI interface is not documented for that job.
A large hopper is not a promise of zero prep
The 1.5 L figure is hopper loading capacity, not juice volume or a feed-opening width. The Quick Fill Top accepts added produce and the manual says opening it stops a running cycle. Prep still matters: remove listed pits, hard seeds and thick skins; cut hard or fibrous produce smaller and leafy or stalk vegetables to about two inches or less, since fibers can wrap around the auger. The manual also limits lemon to about three thin slices per session and says not to juice high-fat fruit such as avocado alone. Presets do not override those directions.
For mixed produce, Tribest recommends adding softer ingredients before harder ones. Clearing the pulp outlet can help discharge; clean components after each two pounds of fiber-rich ingredients. Those are operating instructions, not a throughput rating. A large hopper can reduce feed additions, but cannot predict juice yield.
Batch capacity and session length are different limits
The exact product page and manual list a 27 fl oz / 800 mL juice container and a 32 fl oz / 950 mL pulp container. Do not mistake the pulp-bin figure for juice capacity, and do not read the juice vessel as a yield guarantee. If you routinely serve several people in one sitting, the 27-ounce receiver may require a second container or a pause to empty it even when the hopper holds more produce.
The manual allows up to 15 minutes of continuous operation, followed by at least 15 minutes of cooling between extended sessions. That is shorter than the Shine Easy’s 20-minute or Greenstar 5’s 40-minute manual limits, so those models suit a longer uninterrupted work period better. Separately, overload protection may stop the motor after too much or very hard food; the manual says to wait ten minutes after that shutdown. This recovery instruction does not replace the ordinary session limit.
Measure the counter and plan for hand-washing
The listed body is 8.1 inches wide, 8.8 inches deep and 17.6 inches high, at 12.6 pounds. Check the height with room to open the quick-fill lid and lift out the assembly; the product dimensions alone do not include that working clearance. Leave space for the separate 27-ounce juice and 32-ounce pulp containers, and for carrying the juicing assembly to the sink.
The manual says no parts are dishwasher-safe. Unplug first; hand-wash the pusher, hopper, chopper/auger, filter and housing with lukewarm water, a soft sponge and neutral detergent, then dry them. Screenless construction avoids a mesh screen but not filter rinsing or opening the pulp outlet. Close and latch that outlet before juicing; wipe the motor body only. If dishwasher cleanup is essential, this is the wrong match.
New and refurbished are different sale decisions
The current U.S. product page lists the gray SWA-3GY-B. Tribest also lists an exact manufacturer-refurbished SWA-3GYR-B. On October 23, 2026, the base-model structured listing marked SWA-3GY-B available, while the refurbished variant data marked SWA-3GYR-B unavailable. The refurb page describes a manufacturer inspection and reconditioning, a 15-year household-use warranty from purchase, possible arrival in the original box without an outer box, and final sale with no refunds or returns. Those are the maker’s stated offer terms, not an independent condition report; recheck the exact written variant terms and stock before purchase. The product image is an official SWA-3 model image and cannot show the cosmetic condition of a particular refurbished unit.
Who should compare something else?
Consider it if automatic mixed-produce mode and hopper loading matter more than long sessions or dishwasher cleanup. Shine Easy has a similar hopper routine, a 27-ounce container and a 20-minute session, but no published chute width or documented AI mode. Greenstar 5 permits a longer 40-minute session and includes twin-gear attachments, but needs a different horizontal gear/screen setup. Ninja JC151 includes two named pulp filters and top-rack-safe removable attachments. These are workflow distinctions, not a measured juice-quality ranking.
Do not confuse SWA-3 with the older SW-2000 or SW-2020; no source bridge equates their manuals or parts. This assessment uses Tribest’s current SWA-3GY-B product page, exact refurb page and linked SWA-3 manual. No hands-on yield, texture, noise, cleaning-time or durability test is claimed.
