Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Are you pressing only halved citrus rather than feeding whole produce?
This is a pressure-started citrus cone. It has no feed chute for apples, carrots or greens.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you want juice to flow directly into your own glass through an integrated anti-drip outlet?
The exact family page identifies a stainless-steel spout; a glass is supplied by the user and no lidded carafe is listed.
Explore this need in the finder →Must the unit fit under an 11-inch height limit?
The manufacturer lists an 11-inch appliance height. Leave additional room for hands and vessel placement; do not assume zero clearance.
Explore this need in the finder →Is dishwasher SANI-cycle approval essential for your cleanup plan?
The manual lists four removable parts as dishwasher-safe, but does not mention SANI-cycle approval. If that heat/sanitizing setting is essential, it is not confirmed.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you require a documented minimum uninterrupted run interval?
The manual warns against prolonged operation and says to allow cooling, but provides no numeric continuous-use interval. A required minimum cannot be confirmed.
Explore this need in the finder →The SMEG CJF01 is a dedicated electric citrus press for someone who wants a permanent, compact counter appliance for halved lemons, oranges or grapefruit. It does not replace a juicer with a feed chute: there is no maker-documented apple, carrot or leafy-green setup. The useful choice is whether this particular citrus-only routine, its die-cast-aluminum body and its finish family fit your kitchen—not whether its wattage sounds large.

Choose a finish, not a different juicing mechanism
The U.S. CJF01 directory lists four codes: CJF01BLMUS (matte black), CJF01WHMUS (matte white), CJF01DGUS (Sicily is My Love decoration) and CJF01DGBUS (Blu Mediterraneo decoration). SMEG’s pages and CJF01 manual identify one citrus-juicer family; the difference documented across those pages is finish and decoration, not a second cone or juice mode. Check the code on a retailer listing if a particular finish matters. The image above is specifically the black matte SKU, not a generic promise that every variant looks alike.
What happens at the counter
Halve the fruit, set the assembled press on a level, dry surface and open its stainless-steel anti-drip spout over your own cup or glass. Press one half onto the universal stainless-steel reamer: a sensor starts the motor under pressure, and lifting the fruit stops it. The supplied juice collector catches juice on its way to the outlet, but SMEG does not publish its usable volume or a separate lidded carafe. Plan to juice into a nearby vessel rather than prepare a large batch and carry it away in a maker-sized pitcher.
The reamer and stainless-steel strainer suit halved citrus. This is not the place to feed whole produce, make a leafy blend or choose a named low/medium/high pulp setting; the pages show no user-adjustable speed or pulp dial. Use a light, even press. CJF01’s manual cautions that pressing too hard can pull bitter pith into the juice, so the motor is not a reason to lean on the fruit.
Dimensions, materials and an unresolved rating
The U.S. product page lists 120 V, 60 Hz, a 39-inch cord, a width of 166 mm (about 6.54 inches), 7.5 inches deep, 11 inches high and a net weight of 6 pounds. Those published dimensions are more useful for a shelf check than the appliance’s retro shape: leave space to put a glass under the outlet and to reach the fruit while pressing. SMEG identifies a die-cast-aluminum body, stainless cone, strainer and spout, and a Tritan cover and juice collector. The cover protects the assembly between uses and can also hold fruit or peel, according to the maker.
Do not use a wattage comparison to choose between CJF01 and CJF11. SMEG’s feature copy says 70 W, while the technical-information field on the same U.S. model page says 80 W. The manual does not settle that conflict, so a single motor-power figure is not reliable here. The manual also warns against long operation and says to let the appliance cool before using it again, but gives no numeric continuous-run limit. If a specific uninterrupted time is essential, this documentation does not confirm that requirement.
Cleanup and the better alternative
The CJF01 manual names the cone, cover, strainer and juice collector as dishwasher-safe. It instructs you to wipe the motor base with a damp cloth and not immerse it. The outlet lifts to stop dripping; the manual does not present it as a separately removable part. Empty the collector and rinse promptly so citrus residue does not dry on the parts, and avoid pressing or scraping the mesh with a hard tool. This is manageable cleanup for a small citrus job, but it is still a disassembly-and-rinse routine after each use.
Choose CJF01 if you want a powered reamer, direct glass service and a particular aluminum-body finish. Look elsewhere if you need vegetables or greens, a large lidded receiver, a documented long run, or selectable pulp. A hand lever press such as the Breville 800CPXL uses a different active-arm setup; a feed-chute centrifugal or auger machine serves a different produce routine altogether. For a second SMEG finish family with a plastic body and Tritan Renew parts, compare the CJF11 review. Neither family has a documented yield test here.
