Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Would you choose a vertical auger slow juicer rather than a centrifugal basket?
The exact U.S. H-AA family page and linked manual establish the powered vertical auger and interchangeable screens; this -RM offer is a refurbished H-AA, not a centrifugal unit.
Explore this need in the finder →Is the H-AA’s documented frozen-fruit strainer an essential part of your routine?
Hurom says the refurbished offer has the same in-box parts as new, and the H-AA package/manual identify an ice-cream strainer with its own fruit-preparation limits.
Explore this need in the finder →Can you accept an unmeasured juice-container capacity, rather than requiring at least 16 fl oz?
The 500 ml figure is the internal chamber. The listed juice container has no published capacity, so an essential 16 fl oz receiver minimum is not met by known evidence.
Explore this need in the finder →Must the complete removable food-contact assembly be dishwasher-safe?
No. Reused H-AA manual directions call for hand-cleaning; Hurom’s care FAQ says only the auger is dishwasher-safe.
Explore this need in the finder →Is a 30-minute documented use ceiling enough, rather than a 31-minute uninterrupted minimum?
The exact H-AA page and manual state up to 30 minutes continuously. This is a ceiling, not measured throughput.
Explore this need in the finder →Is a confirmed refurbished household warranty of at least one year essential?
The exact refurbished H-AA page does not state its warranty duration; do not infer it from the standard new H-AA page. Check the live refurbished terms before ordering.
Explore this need in the finder →Hurom’s refurbished HZ offer is the stainless-accented vertical slow-juicer family, not a generic screen accessory or a new model generation. The exact U.S. page identifies silver HZ-SBB17-RM and rose-gold HZ-LBB17-RM finish variants; the captured product feed showed silver available and rose gold unavailable at that moment. The package is unusually well specified: Hurom lists fine, coarse, and ice-cream strainers, plus the HZ’s other accessories. That detail matters more than its low listed auger speed if your questionnaire includes a frozen-fruit need.

The refurbished terms are separate from the new HZ
Hurom describes its refurbished units as pre-owned, remanufactured, and tested to the company’s stated standards. The exact refurbished HZ page gives five years of motor coverage and one year for other parts. Do not transfer a new-unit warranty to this -RM offer or assume the visible product image shows the condition of the appliance that ships. Hurom does not state an individual cosmetic grade. Confirm current return and warranty conditions for the selected SKU, and remember that captured color availability is a dated snapshot rather than a reservation.
The manufacturer lists a 500 ml / 16.9 fl oz internal chamber, 43 RPM auger, 17 RPM spinning brush, 120 V / 60 Hz, and 150 W. Hurom shows the 50 mm opening and 30-minute maximum continuous-use limit. The separate juice and pulp containers are listed, but their capacities are not. As with the other Hurom chamber measures, 500 ml describes working chamber volume; it is not a 16.9-ounce pitcher or expected juice output.
Three screens and a real prep routine
The exact HZ refurbished package lists fine, coarse, and ice-cream strainers, along with the citrus squeezer, tofu press, drying rack, juice and pulp containers, pusher, and cleaning tools. The fine and coarse setups provide different screen options; neither establishes a measured pulp percentage. The separate ice-cream strainer makes a maker-documented frozen-fruit setup part of this named package, but it is not permission to process ice cubes or hard frozen blocks. Use the HZ Series manual’s fruit thawing, assembly, and small-batch instructions, and check the actual unit’s package before relying on any accessory at checkout.
The manual describes a one-speed vertical auger, a manual reverse function for a jam, and a short safety timer; it allows up to 30 minutes of use followed by five minutes’ rest. Prepare ingredients to the manual’s item-specific directions, remove hard seeds, and use the supplied pusher. A 50 mm opening does not make this a whole-fruit, no-prep machine. When finished, unplug, disassemble and hand wash the food-contact components. The manual warns against dishwasher cleaning. “Slow” and a maker-listed 43 RPM are design descriptors, not lab evidence of higher juice yield or a claim that the screen produces a particular texture.
Answer-based tradeoffs
If you require a powered masticating juicer, the HZ fits its documented operating mechanism. If a manufacturer-listed frozen-fruit strainer is essential, it has stronger package evidence than the refurbished HP offer, whose exact parts list only names a fine strainer. A 500 ml chamber can pass a chamber threshold at or below that figure, but it cannot pass a minimum receiver-size question. A hard demand for dishwasher-safe removable juicing parts or more than 30 uninterrupted minutes excludes it. Wheatgrass is not confirmed in the HZ product materials reviewed for this package, so do not treat its auger design as a guaranteed wheatgrass endorsement.
The HZ is also not the self-feeding H70 or H320 arrangement: its smaller feed opening requires ordinary manual loading rather than a large hopper batch. If a hopper-first routine is the priority, compare those exact refurb offers rather than assuming that all vertical Hurom models handle produce identically. If you care about day-to-day cleanup, the multiple included screens mean more parts to wash, even though a spinning brush may help move pulp during operation.
Who it suits
Consider the refurbished HZ if you specifically value a traditional fine/coarse vertical-auger setup, want the exact maker-listed frozen-fruit strainer, and will hand wash the parts. It is a poor fit for a large measured juice pitcher, dishwasher-only cleanup, or a known minimum continuous session above 30 minutes. The silver photo is an image of the model family, not a promise about an individual refurb unit’s condition or a substitute for verifying which finish SKU is being sold.
