Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Do you want one base that can extract produce and press halved citrus with a separate reamer?
The CJE-2000 has separate centrifugal and citrus attachments. Choose both jobs only if you are willing to switch assemblies between them.
Explore this need in the finder →Is the supplied 28-ounce juice container enough for your serving?
Cuisinart lists a 28-ounce receiving container. It is below a hard 32-ounce vessel minimum and says nothing about how much a particular produce load will yield.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you want removable parts that can go on the dishwasher top rack?
The CJE-2000 booklet permits its named removable juice and citrus pieces on the top rack; the motor base remains wipe-clean only.
Explore this need in the finder →The Cuisinart CJE-2000 is an earlier household combo with two genuinely different jobs: a centrifugal fruit-and-vegetable extractor and a separate citrus reamer. Its value is not that it automates every drink; it is that one motor base can be reassembled around either a mesh cutting basket or a citrus attachment. That distinction matters if you regularly make both apple or carrot juice and hand-pressed orange or lemon juice, but would rather not keep two small appliances on the counter.
Two attachments, not two simultaneous functions
For produce extraction, the manual calls for the micro-mesh basket and cutting disc, the extractor cover and pusher, and the supplied juice pitcher under the spout. The booklet says to run the extractor on High. Cuisinart lists a 220-watt maximum appliance rating, but that is an electrical rating, not an extraction test or a promise about speed or yield. The mesh basket filters juice into the container while pulp and peel are kept back; the book's ingredient tips still call for peeling some thick-skinned produce, removing pits and hard seeds, and feeding leafy greens between other ingredients.
To switch to citrus, you remove the extractor assembly and fit the juicing basket and reamer. You halve a citrus fruit, place it on the cone, and press it down with your hand. The adjustable reamer offers low, medium, or high pulp preference; the booklet recommends its Low motor setting for citrus. Cuisinart's page also uses “automatic reverse” and “final spin” wording for this attachment. Neither setup turns the machine into a blender, a slow screw juicer, or a one-pass citrus-and-vegetable appliance: the attachment has to be changed between jobs.
The 28-ounce vessel sets a modest batch ceiling
Cuisinart lists one transparent 28-ounce juice container. That is useful receiving capacity for a small household batch or repeated citrus pressing; it is not a forecast that a load of fruit will produce 28 ounces. Actual juice volume depends on the produce and preparation, and the manual's approximate yield chart is not a guarantee for another person's ingredients. If you need one supplied vessel of at least 32 fluid ounces, this model falls short. The 28-ounce rating is also not interchangeable with a separate pulp-bin capacity: the manufacturer does not publish a numeric pulp capacity for this configuration.
The listed body dimensions are 7.7 inches long by 8.4 inches wide by 14.03 inches high. The long side gives a useful first estimate of counter depth, but the assembled unit needs additional reach for the feed opening, locking parts, pitcher, cord, and removing the citrus attachment. The product page's 8.15 weight field has no unit, so do not use it as a verified lifting measurement. Its gray color label does not establish the material of the motor housing.
Cleanup is manageable if you switch and rinse promptly
The juice extractor and citrus reamer use separate removable parts, so the practical trade is less counter equipment in exchange for more setup changes and components to wash. The booklet permits hand washing or top-rack dishwasher cleaning for the named removable pieces, including the cover, pusher, pitcher, mesh basket assembly, filter housing, and citrus basket and reamer. Keep the motor housing out of the dishwasher and wipe it with a damp cloth. The metal mesh-and-blade basket is sharp, and Cuisinart advises cleaning it thoroughly after each use; dried pulp is harder to remove. The manual also describes a 30-minute unplugged cooling rest after a thermal overload, so repeated large loads should not be judged from a maximum-watt figure alone.
Choose it only if both modes earn their space
The CJE-2000 makes more sense than a citrus-only press when you also want to extract ordinary produce, and it adds citrus capability absent from the Cuisinart CJE-1000P1 extractor. The CJE-1000P1 is the better comparison if a one-liter pitcher and five-position speed dial matter more than citrus. If you only want halved citrus, a dedicated Cuisinart CCJ press has a narrower assembly; if you want juice and a travel smoothie from one appliance, the separate Cuisinart BJC-550 blender/extractor is the other earlier hybrid, but it has no citrus reamer or supplied juice pitcher. The CJE-2000 is also distinct from the compact CJE-500 family: its pitcher is larger and it adds a citrus mode, but it is still an earlier centrifugal machine rather than a current offer.
Cuisinart labels the CJE-2000 discontinued and out of stock. A used or reseller listing should be checked for the exact code, both attachment sets, the 28-ounce pitcher, the pusher, cleaning brush, and an intact filter basket. The booklet limits its three-year warranty to U.S. consumer household purchases; a used offer does not automatically inherit that protection. In the finder, include earlier models only if you are comparing a specific older offer, then look for centrifugal extraction, a citrus attachment, and a pitcher minimum that fits your serving. A 32-ounce minimum correctly removes this 28-ounce setup, while a preference for a blender should point elsewhere.

| Controls and use | The CJE-2000 Series booklet labels its rocker High/Low/Off. It instructs High for the centrifugal extractor and recommends Low for the citrus attachment. The high/low control is function-specific, not a choice among multiple produce-extractor speeds. The page also uses On-Off-Reverse wording; that is recorded separately rather than interpreted as a verified extractor reverse cycle. |
| Cleanup note | The micro-mesh basket/blade is sharp and should be cleaned promptly after use. The manual says a thermal overload requires an unplugged 30-minute rest. Separate citrus and centrifugal attachments add pieces to wash. |
| Manufacturer jug label | 28 ounces, supplied transparent juice container |
| Supplied cup nozzle | No |
| Blender mode on the same base | No |
| Body-fit measurement note | Exact page lists 7.7 L x 8.4 W x 14.03 H inches. Leave unquantified clearance for feed, pitcher, attachment swaps, locking and cleaning. |
| Electrical-rating caveat | Exact page says 220 watts of centrifugal force; the booklet gives a maximum 220-watt appliance rating. This is a stated electrical rating, not a measured extraction or juice-yield result. |
