Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Do you want centrifugal juicing and blending from one shared base?
The BJB615 supports separate centrifugal-juicing and blender-jug setups. To combine juice with a blend, the manual requires switching attachments; the operations are sequential, not simultaneous.
Explore this need in the finder →Do you require the five-button speed control rather than a ten-setting dial?
This earlier U.S. BJB615 has five separate speed buttons, not the 3X Bluicer Pro ten-setting dial.
Explore this need in the finder →Is an included cup nozzle and at least a 50 fl oz jug essential?
The linked U.S. manual lists a juicing nozzle for direct-to-cup use and a 50 fl oz blender jug that is positioned under the outlet during juicing. Verify attachment condition and completeness for a used or leftover offer.
Explore this need in the finder →The original U.S. 3X Bluicer is a real juicer-and-blender combination, not a centrifugal extractor with a blending claim pasted on. Its centrifugal juicing stack and its 50 fl oz blender jug are separate setups on one base. The Breville U.S. page identifies the Smoked Hickory configuration as BJB615SHY1BUS1 and now marks the model discontinued. It remains useful as an earlier-model comparison, but any remaining offer needs a careful check of condition, included attachments, and seller terms.
One base, two different setups
In juicing mode, the manual has you build the filter-bowl surround, stainless-steel basket, cover, and safety arm, then place the pulp container behind the base. The supplied jug sits under the spout to collect juice; a cup nozzle can instead direct juice into a glass. The central chute is listed at 3.5 inches, and the five numbered speed buttons let you follow Breville's produce-specific advice. For instance, its manual assigns lower settings to some soft or watery ingredients and higher settings to harder produce. That is a documented control plan, not a promise of a particular yield.
For blending, the same base takes the 50 fl oz jug and its lid. The four one-touch programs are Smoothie, Pulse/Ice Crush, Auto Clean, and Frozen Cocktail; five separate speed buttons are available for manual blending. The product can make a “bluice” by juicing into the blender jug and then switching to the blending setup. That is a sequence of two configurations, not two attachments operating at once. If you want to switch between juice and smoothies during a busy breakfast, budget the time to remove, rinse, and change the assembly.

What the Pro changes
The current 3X Bluicer Pro keeps the same listed 50 fl oz jug, 3.2 qt pulp container, 3.5-inch chute, and 15.6 × 9.3 × 17.7-inch body dimensions. The step up is mainly in controls: the BJB615 has five discrete speed buttons and four programs; the BJB815 Pro has a ten-setting speed dial and adds a Green Smoothie program. Breville also lists 1,000 watts for the BJB615 and 1,100 watts for the Pro, while their U.S. manuals list 120 V, 60 Hz ratings of 8 A maximum and 9.5 A maximum respectively. Those electrical ratings do not measure juice output, blending smoothness, or noise. The Pro is listed at 17.33 pounds versus 15.12 pounds for the BJB615, so the shared dimensions do not mean equal weight.
Both manuals describe a lower juicing range intended to reduce noise; neither gives a decibel figure, and neither has a control specifically named Quiet. The BJB615's lower range is settings 1–3, with 4 and 5 used for harder produce; use the manual's table rather than treating a slower speed as universally better. Its Low range may not maximize yield for every ingredient. If noise is an essential constraint, this is a manufacturer's description of a setting, not evidence that the machine is quiet in every room or at every speed.
The cleanup is not one-button cleaning
“Auto Clean” applies to the blender jug only. The manual explicitly says that it does not clean the juicer. After extracting, you still need to lift off the juice-collector assembly, empty the pulp bin, rinse the filter bowl, and brush the fine mesh before pulp dries. The basket has small sharp cutting blades. Breville lists all removable parts except the motor base and food pusher as dishwasher-safe; the jug may use the bottom rack, with lid and inner measuring cup on the top rack. The manual cautions that frequent dishwasher exposure can shorten part life, so prompt rinsing and hand washing remain a reasonable routine. Wipe the motor base rather than immersing it.
This is a good fit if one stored base for both fresh juice and blending is more useful to you than a dedicated appliance, and you can tolerate the attachment switch and full juicer cleanup. It is less appealing if you mainly want a fast, uncomplicated daily extractor, have little counter depth, or expect the blender's clean cycle to wash the whole juicer. The published body is 9.3 inches deep and 17.7 inches tall before allowing room for the chute, jug, pulp bin, arm, cord, and hand access.
Choosing it over a dedicated juicer
Against Breville's BJE430 Juice Fountain Cold, the BJB615 trades the Cold's 70 fl oz juice jug and shallower 8-inch listed depth for an included blending system and a smaller 50 fl oz jug. The BJE430's chute width is unresolved because Breville's page conflicts; the BJB615 page gives 3.5 inches. Against the slow-compression Big Squeeze BJS700, the Bluicer's centrifugal basket is a different juicing method and brings blending to the same base, while the BJS700 uses a screw and strainer and has its own preparation and cleaning demands. Decide first whether you need a blender and whether centrifugal extraction matches your routine; a wattage comparison alone cannot answer that.
For a used or leftover BJB615, ask for a photo of the model label and confirm that the juicer basket, cover, pusher, pulp container, blender jug, lid, nozzle, and drip-stop are present and undamaged. The official page labels the model discontinued, so do not assume a seller's warranty, replacement-part bundle, or current stock. If you want this shared-base idea but prefer a current direct-offer model with ten speed settings and the additional Green Smoothie program, compare the BJB815 Pro review. The BJB615 still has a distinct case: it offers the core two-mode routine with fewer speed steps and one fewer one-touch program.
