How to set up and clean the Ninja NeverClog JC151

The Ninja NeverClog JC151 is easiest to live with when its parts are assembled and its produce is prepared before the motor starts. It is a slow auger juicer, not a self-cleaning appliance: you still need to choose a pulp filter, feed ingredients gradually, and rinse the fine mesh promptly after the last glass. This guide follows the U.S. JC150 Series owner's instructions; for a different model code or package, check that unit's own manual before reusing a step.

Set up one juicing station

Place the motor base on a dry, level counter near an outlet, with space for the feed opening and the removable parts to travel to the sink. The U.S. listing gives the body as 12.11 inches long, 7.15 inches wide, and 15.93 inches high, but it does not publish a feed-chute diameter. Leave extra room above the chute for the tamper and at the sides for the juice jug and pulp bin; the listed body size is not a complete measurement of the working area.

Before assembling or taking the machine apart, unplug the base and wait until the auger has stopped. Fit the auger and one of the two supplied filters into the feed-chute chamber, then attach the pulp spout. Lock the chamber onto the motor base. Put the pulp container beneath its outlet and the juice jug beneath the anti-drip lever. Open the lever before starting so juice can flow into the jug. Keep the pulp container in place while operating; it catches the separated fiber.

Choose the filter before loading produce

The black filter has the finer mesh and is labeled Less Pulp. The orange filter has larger openings and is labeled Lots of Pulp. The manual recommends the orange filter for soft, fibrous produce such as pears, berries, seeded melons, and pineapple. It is a real screen change, not a button that alters the same filter. If your preferred result changes from batch to batch, include the time to swap and rinse that part in your routine.

Wash produce first. Remove pits and seeds and peel tough rinds; the manual names citrus, melons, pineapples, and mangoes among items to prepare. It says apples, pears, peaches, cucumbers, and carrots do not need their skin removed. Do not put frozen fruit or vegetables, ice, or hot ingredients into the juicer. The product page does not quantify the chute width, so a model-specific minimum opening should not be inferred from the appliance's compact appearance.

Feed gradually; use Reverse only as directed

Press Start/Stop and add pieces gradually, allowing each piece to process before adding more. Use the supplied tamper if needed, but never put fingers or an improvised utensil into the moving feed opening. Start/Stop is not a speed selector: the owner guide says continuous operation can run for up to 12 minutes. If the chamber blocks or the ingredients stop processing, press and hold Reverse. After a beep and a short pause, the auger turns the other way; release the control to stop it. Press Start/Stop to resume normal operation when the blockage has cleared. If an overload stops the motor, the guide says to wait about two minutes before trying again.

When juicing is finished, press Stop, close the anti-drip lever, and unplug the base before disassembly. The manual says fibrous produce can produce a squeak and describes that as normal; unusual damage or a damaged filter is a different matter and should not be ignored. Treat the manual's general produce-to-juice estimate as a planning note, not a promise about yield from a particular recipe.

Make cleanup part of the batch

Rinse the auger, chamber, filter, jug, and pulp container soon after use, before fibers dry against the mesh. The JC150 Series guide says removable parts other than the motor base are top-rack dishwasher-safe and warns against heated dry. That makes the parts dishwasher-compatible, not maintenance-free: if residue remains in the filter, clear it with a cleaning utensil or toothpick before washing. Wipe the unplugged motor base with a damp cloth; do not immerse it or pour water into the assembled feed chamber as a shortcut.

The manual describes nesting the juice jug inside the pulp container for storage. If the machine will be used often, a dedicated place for the base, jug, two filters, brush, and food tray can make setup quicker. A large pulp container does not mean you can ignore it during a long session; stop and empty it safely if it approaches full.

Check the capacity label before buying for a batch size

One published JC151 product-page feature says the jug is 24 fluid ounces, while the same page's included-items list says 30 ounces; Ninja's separate compatible replacement-jug page says it holds up to 24 ounces. The included jug capacity is therefore not treated as settled here. If a minimum volume is essential, do not choose this model based on the larger figure without confirming the exact package. The JC151 review explains the conflict and compares this auger layout with the Breville BJS700 and centrifugal BJE530. For a broader mechanism comparison, see centrifugal or slow juicer.
