Sana comparison

Sana 868 vs 878: wide feed or self-feeding hopper?

The Sana 868 and 878 are both vertical single-auger juicers listed in U.S. 120-volt configurations, but they solve different routines. The 868’s defining claim is a 3¼-inch trap-door opening and four screen setups. The 878’s defining claim is a 2-liter self-feeding hopper and 1,500-ml vacuum receiver. Neither product name nor marketing language should substitute for the exact U.S. manual.

Choose by the work you want to avoid

The 868 is the wide-feed route. Sana USA lists an 82-mm / 3¼-inch opening, fine and coarse juice screens, a smoothie screen and a frozen-dessert screen. It also lists a nominal 50-ounce glass pitcher. The product name says “Batch Juicer,” but the exact page does not supply a preloaded hopper volume or describe unattended feed: its tray-like upper assembly is a wide-feed/trap-door design. The 878 is for loading more produce before operation. Sana describes a 2-liter hopper and a dual-blade self-feeding mechanism, plus a 1,500-ml vacuum container. Those two liters describe produce loading, not juice yield.

Screen package and receiver size

Pick the 868 if a separate smoothie screen is essential; the 878 page lists fine, coarse and sorbet screens but not a smoothie strainer. Both pages advertise frozen-dessert/sorbet setups, but changing the screen is a different setup, not a simultaneous blending mode. The 868’s exact U.S. listing gives 50 ounces / 1,500 ml for its glass pitcher; the 878 gives a 1,500-ml vacuum receiver. A receiver’s rated capacity is not the yield of any recipe. The 878’s pump and date dial do not establish a food-safety guarantee.

Important manual mismatch

Sana USA identifies both assessed offers as 120 V. The exact-model 868 global manual lists 220–240 V; the exact-model 878 global manual says it is for 230–240-V countries and specifies 220–240 V. Neither is applied as the North American operating guide. Ask Sana USA or the seller for the exact U.S. manual and follow it for safe assembly, ingredient preparation, screening, cleaning and run limits. Dishwasher status, exact session limits and complete warranty terms remain unresolved for both U.S. configurations.

Counter and purchase decision

The 868 page gives assembled size as 7 × 9 × 18 inches high; the 878 gives 8 × 10 × 18¾ inches. Neither page labels the first two axes, so measure the physical working clearance rather than treating a product photo as a cabinet-fit drawing. Sana’s 15-year U.S. warranty headlines also need written terms. Prefer the 868 for wide-feed preparation and its fourth smoothie screen; prefer the 878 for a preloaded hopper and vacuum receiver. If you require confirmed dishwasher-safe parts, a specific run interval, or U.S.-manual-supported frozen-fruit directions before buying, neither listing currently settles that requirement. These are source-based comparisons, not yield, taste, noise, or durability tests.
