Angel AG-5500 vs AG-5500SFH: what the soft-fruit package changes
Angel’s AG-5500 and AG-5500SFH share a powered twin-gear juicer base. The meaningful difference is the package: AG-5500SFH lists a second housing with a soft-fruit filter, while the exact AG-5500 offer does not. Choose between the boxes, not between assumed motors, speeds, or laboratory results.
Match the name to the exact box
The U.S. standard-page model is AG-5500, SKU AGUS5500AB21, UPC 195893303489 for the 110–120 V / 60 Hz selection. Angel’s separate U.S. soft-fruit offer identifies AG-5500SFH, SKU AGUS5500AB21SFH, UPC 195893238194. Both product pages also expose a separate 220 V option; that is not the U.S. package assessed here. A storefront heading, family photograph, or search-result title can blur the suffix, so verify the printed model and accessories in the exact listing before paying.
The standard AG-5500 package includes its standard housing filter. The AG-5500SFH page lists that same standard setup plus a soft-fruit housing filter. Angel’s own standard-page selector marks the soft-fruit filter “Not Included.” The letters therefore describe an included housing/filter difference, not a second machine, a cosmetic finish, or an optional mode automatically present in every 5500 listing.
What the added housing is for
Angel describes the soft-fruit filter for watery or softer ingredients including pineapple, lemon, berries, cucumber, and tomato. The shared operating manual says its holes are larger than those of the standard filter. This gives a shopper a clear reason to pay attention to SFH: the maker documents a different screen/housing setup for that ingredient routine. The source does not measure yield, pulp texture, speed, or nutritional retention for either package. Treat the filter description as an equipment and instruction distinction, not proof that it extracts more juice.
The two filters are alternative assemblies. For the SFH setup, stop and unplug the machine, swap the housing as instructed, reassemble the clamp and splash guard, and feed prepared ingredients gradually. The added filter is not a simultaneous second route or a separate motor. If your usual ingredients are firm roots, leafy greens, and apples, and you do not need the maker-described soft-fruit setup, the standard box avoids buying an attachment you may not use.
Controls and operating work stay familiar
The exact SFH page, like the AG-5500 page, lists a 180-watt motor, 82 rpm, twin-gear masticating operation, SUS-304 steel for listed housing/gear parts, a jamming sensor, and automatic reverse as “NO.” The manual describes the operator clearing a jam by pressing Reverse, then pressing Start. “Automatic operation” on the product page means powered juicing; it does not turn manual reverse into automatic jam reversal. The manual’s family table lists automatic reverse on the higher 7500/8500 configurations, but that is a different feature from this SFH filter.
Both boxes still ask the owner to prepare produce, feed it at the working pace, separate juice and pulp cups, and dismantle and clean multiple parts promptly. Angel’s manual recommends a 30-minute running interval followed by a short cooling pause; it does not document a timed automatic shutoff. For an overheat sensor stop, the troubleshooting page gives a separate 20-minute powered cooling-fan step. Those instructions do not transform either package into a high-throughput batch guarantee.
Do not let the suffix decide every kitchen constraint
The page lists a glass juice cup and two plastic juice-and-pulp cups for these offers but gives no cup volume. The soft-fruit filter does not satisfy a large receiver minimum. Similarly, the product pages list 19.5 × 7.75 × 10.5 inches and 20.8 pounds, while the shared manual table gives 20 × 7.5 × 11 inches and about 12 kilograms. Because the sources conflict and the manual does not label an axis order, neither model can be called a confirmed fit for a strict counter clearance or lift limit.
Both manuals describe dishwasher-safe twin gears, housing filters, and splash guard, but no high-heat SANI-cycle approval was found. The daily-use wheatgrass housing is a third, separate attachment: the manual recommends it for daily wheatgrass, and neither 5500 box list includes it. The SFH soft-fruit housing does not substitute for it.
A simple decision
Choose AG-5500 if you need the standard twin-gear arrangement and its documented ingredient scope but not the extra soft-fruit housing. Choose AG-5500SFH if the maker-described alternate filter is important enough to want included from the start. If automatic reverse, a published cup capacity, non-conflicting measurements, or confirmed SANI approval is essential, neither package is documented to meet that need. Compare the exact seller’s suffix, voltage, box contents, return terms, and written warranty; current availability and a shared product-family name do not prove that an offer contains the other model’s parts.
